ABOUT THE EVENT
The CINE HORROR Film Festival is dedicated exclusively to films in the fantastic genre (horror, thriller, fantasy and science fiction) and it takes place in the city of Salvador, Brazil. In 2026, the event reaches its eleventh edition, screening a wide variety of contemporary films from around the world. The screenings will take place at the Sala de Cinema Walter da Silveira.
ABOUT THE SUBMISSIONS
- Entries must be made using the form available at: https://forms.gle/oo7EL5gnt4ocho4UA (SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED)
- The registration period for XI Cine Horror begins on April 06, 2026 (04/06/2026);
- The submission period for the XI Cine Horror closes on July 05, 2026 (07/05/2026);
- Films submitted outside the specified period will not be avaliated;
- Films submitted in previous editions will be automatically disqualified;
- Films created primarily using artificial intelligence will be automatically disqualified;
- We will accept ONLY films released in 2024 or later;
- There is no limit on the number of submissions per participant;
- The submission must include a valid screener;
- We will not select films that are publicly available on streaming/video platforms;
- The films must be hosted on video platforms (Vimeo or Youtube) - password protected or with a private link. Files hosted on cloud services (Dropbox, Google Drive and others) will also be accepted;
- We ask that the viewing link remain active until the end of the selection period. WE WILL NOT CONTACT YOU if we find an expired/invalid link or one with an incorrect password, and it will be up to the person responsible for the submission to communicate the correction;
- In the case of productions with dialogues in a foreign language (i.e. any language other than Brazilian Portuguese), they MUST have subtitles in Portuguese, English or Spanish on the copy provided during registration.
ABOUT THE SELECTION AND RESULTS
- The films will be curated by a selected team, whose names will be announced in the upcoming weeks on the Cine Horror website and social networks;
- Those responsible for the selected films will be contacted during the month of September, via the e-mail address provided on the registration form;
- In this contact, the selection laurel will be sent and the official copy will be requested for exhibition during the show;
- We ask those responsible not to make the selection public, but to WAIT FOR THE OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT on Cine Horror's website and social networks;
- The announcement of the selected films will be made one by one, gradually, and we will let you know when it ends.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
- There is no minimum or maximum number of films selected for the event, and it is up to the curators to decide;
- The full program, with days and times of screenings for each film, will be announced during the month of November on the event's official website and social networks;
- Admissions to the screenings will be free of charge.
